OUR
TECHNOLOGY
TOPCON OCT-2000
OCT (optical coherence tomography) is a new imaging technology that uses light to capture images of the eye. With this technology we are able to scan deeper than before allowing us to detect, monitor and manage eye diseases at an earlier stage than previously possible. These images can also be rendered to create a 3-D representation of the eye which allows or better visualization. The biggest advantage is the Examinations take roughly 15 minutes with results available on same day. OCT is a considered the gold standard in monitoring and detecting many eye diseases such as macular degeneration and glaucoma.
IS OCT TECHNOLOGY SAFE?
Hacing an OCT scan done on your eyes is perfectly safe. It does not require any special dye like you would need for having a CT scan. The OCT we use at Optomeyes Eyewear has been approved for use by the TGA (Therapeutics Goods Administration).
WHAT CAN OCT BE USED FOR?
OCT is a very versatile tool. It can be used for:
- Macular Degeneration detection and progression
- Glaucoma detection and progression
- Diabetic Eye Disease detection and management
- Contact Lens Fittings
- Checking the drainage system of the eye
- Corneal Thickness measurement

TOPCON CV-5000S
The Topcon CV-5000s Vision Tester allows our optometrists to check your glasses and contact lens prescriptions with speed and accuracy.
It can be performed from a distance thanks to its remote control unit which means eye tests can be completed from a safe distance.
MEDMONT CORNEAL TOPOGRAPHER
The cornea is the front surface of the eye which is responsible for a large proportion of clear vision.
Our Medmont Corenal Topographer takes a 360 degree scan of your cornea. The scan can then be analysed for tear film quality, irregularies in curvature of your cornea and test for orthokeratology suitability.
Our topographer is particularly useful for those with dry eyes or those with corneal conditions such as keratoconus.

TOPCON AUTO-REFRACTOR
The Topcon Auto-refractor gives our optometrists a baseline of what your glasses or contact lenses prescription maybe.
It takes only seconds to perform but can save minutes off of our comprehensive eye exams without compromising accuracy. The shorter the examination time, the more comfortable your experience will be.
This is another way Optomeyes Eyewear has introduced technology to make your visits more comfortable.
MEDMONT VISUAL FIELD ANALYSER
Glaucoma is an eye disease that affects your peripheral vision.
The Medmont Visual Field Analyser is a non-invasive test that maps out your visual field. It can be used to monitor any subtle changes to your visual field caused by glaucoma and tests only take a few minutes per eye.
It can also be used for driving assessments when indicated necessary by the RMS.
